Bill Darnell Farmer, loving husband, devoted father, beloved brother, grandfather, and best friend, passed away December 30, 2017 at his home in Midland, VA . He was born on October 1, 1934 to the late Ezekiel “Jack” and Minnie Farmer in Buchanan County, VA (Davenport).
Bill served his country in the U.S. Army and owned & operated Farmer Construction. Bill’s devotion and love for his wife, family and friends were the essence of who he was and he had a passion for his farm, his race-horses, wood-working, and metal detecting. He enriched the lives of everyone he met with his sense of humor, sincerity, generosity, and humbleness.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, R. Pauline Farmer; three daughters, Bridgette D. Farmer of Midland, Marilyn D. Lawson & husband Roger of Culpeper, and Sheila D. Farmer of Bealeton. One grandson, Jeffrey A. Boggs of Midland, and great grandchildren, Maleah and Khason.
Surviving are three sisters, Mildred Mitchell of St. Petersburg, FL, Hilma Stuby and Elaine Viegas of Oakland, CA and three brothers, Lyal Farmer and wife Betty of Culpeper, VA, Arnold Farmer and wife Jane of Dayton, OH, Harold Farmer of Hazel Hurst, Miss.
He was also preceded in death by siblings Betty O’Quinn of Lebanon, VA, Jack Farmer of New Orleans, and Ralph Farmer of Vansant, VA.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, Bealeton, VA, to honor a life well lived.
A family interment will be conducted in the future at the Ratliff-Breeden Cemetery, Davenport, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 11615 Marsh Road, Bealeton, VA, or Heartland Hospice Care, Warrenton, VA.
