Ray Markee Young, age 81, a Washington area resident since 1955, died suddenly on August 4, 2017, in Warrenton, VA. Born in Rockport, IN, on August 29, 1935. There he met his wife and love of his life, Doris. They moved to Washington, DC, and raised their two children, Brenda and Doug, before moving to Warrenton in 1993. He is survived by over 200 wonderful family members, including his brother Joe. Ray served in the U.S. Air Force and worked most of his career in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, DC, until his retirement. Ray was a proud member of The Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Order of the Kentucky Colonels and organizations supporting our troops. He was grateful for his wonderful life and will be remembered for his smile, kindness, friendship, love of golf and love of family. The family will receive friends at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA, on Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton, VA, on Friday at 11am. Internment at Warrenton Cemetery immediately following. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist.
