Major Sean David Miller, U.S.M.C. Ret., age 43 died on May 4, 2019 in Linden, VA.
He was a combat veteran of Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan Campaign. He was highly decorated for his meritorious achievements on and off the battlefield. A Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal (w Combat 'V'), Joint Service Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (w/1 Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, NATO Medal-Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, and many other achievements including getting a Master's at the Command and Staff Naval War College and completing many professional and specialized military training courses.
He is survived by his father, Donald R. Miller (Step-mother, Connie Miller); a sister, Lisa Michele Miller; Great Aunt Joyce and Great Uncle Bob Ryder; an Aunt Pamela and Uncle Mike Molz; an Uncle Thomas Miller; and cousins Spencer Molz, Joanna Cressy, and Hope Hadden. He was proceeded in death by his mother Linda Flythe Bailey.
The Memorial Service for Sean will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, 1:00pm at Semper Fidelis Chapel, 18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy. Triangle, VA 22172 (on the grounds of The National Marine Corps Museum). The burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
