Cora Jane Sowers, 68 of Warrenton, VA died on January 30, 2010 at her home.
She was born on June 11, 1941 in Camden County, NJ a daughter of the late Elwood Eugene Senft and Jennie Maxwell Veatch Senft.
Mrs. Sowers was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a Registered Nurse in Philadelphia for 20 years before moving to this area. She was a beloved member of Gainesville Presbyterian Church and served as their organist. She taught private piano lessons and besides music her interests included flowers.
In 1982 she married her husband James Robert “Bob” Sowers, Sr. who survives her as well as two stepsons- James Robert Sowers, Jr. of Bristow, VA and Lowell David Sowers, Virginia Beach, VA; one brother- Wayne Senft, Doylestown, PA and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at 10:00 AM where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM . Interment will follow at Bright View Cemetery, Warrenton. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 2:00 PM
at Gainesville Presbyterian Church, 16127 Lee Hwy., Gainesville, VA. Interment at Bright View Cemetery, Warrenton.
