John James Hearsey Sr, 86, of Marshall, VA died on May 23, 2010 at his residence. He was born on August 14, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Walter and Ethel Malone Hearsey. He had served during WWII in the Unites States Army Air Corps. He had worked as a draftsman for Republic Aviation and was regional sales manager for GenCorp. Grandpa Swamper’s storytelling, dog-loving and gardening were loved and cherished by family and friends..
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Jeananne Hearsey on January 1, 2007 and his sister, Dorothy O’Neill.
Survivors include three sons; John J. Hearsey Jr., Warrenton, VA, Douglas J. Hearsey, Alexandria, VA and Brian P. Hearsey, Warrenton, VA and grandchildren, Sarah MacNeil Hearsey, Brian Patrick Hearsey Jr., Luke Matthew Hearsey, Hunter Katherine Hearsey and Rowan Elizabeth Hearsey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 1 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 271 Winchester St., Warrenton, VA. Interment Bright View Cemetery, Warrenton, VA.
