Her outgoing personality and love for life endeared her to all who knew her. No matter what life threw at her for good or ill, it was never a burden and always an adventure.
Born in Queens, NY, Kathleen was the eldest child of Eileen and the late Germain Pineau. She moved to Vestal, NY at a young age, and graduated from Seton High School in Endicott, NY, Nazareth College of Rochester, and Binghamton University.  Kathleen loved teaching and taught kindergarten and first grade for 33 years, and spent the majority of her career at Our Lady of Sorrows in Vestal, and St John the Evangelist in Binghamton.  Kathleen moved to Warrenton, VA in 2003, where she taught at Brumfield and Greenville Elementary schools.  She touched many lives in her career and received hugs, cards and greetings from former students who always said she was their favorite teacher.  Kathleen was an active member of her church, and served as a member and an officer in the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was also the Co-captain of the Greenville Elementary Relay for Life team and an honorary member of the United States Army Transportation Corps Wives Club.
In addition to her husband, John and mother, Eileen Pineau of Vestal, NY, Kathleen is survived by her children, Michael (Meghan) Pedro, and son Ryan of Rochester, NY; Elizabeth Pedro, of Dallas, PA; John Pedro of Rochester, NY and three stepchildren Teresa (Mark) Mannix of Gainesville, VA; Erica (Rickie) Deane of Stephens City, VA and John Joerger, Jr. of Warrenton, VA.  She is also survived by her three brothers, Joseph Pineau of Anna, IL; James (Kathy) Pineau of Cary, NC; John Pineau of Columbus, OH; one sister, Eileen (Steve) Scholsser of Cincinnati, OH; eight nieces and nephews;
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 4, 2010 from 4-7 PM at Moser Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 5 at 1 PM at St John the Evangelist RC Church, Warrenton and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church, Vestal NY with interment at Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City, NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
