Roy Samuel “Sammy” Crane, Sr., 71 of Warrenton, VA died on June 27, 2010 at his home.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1938 in Warrenton, VA a son of the late Joe Cefes Crane and Hazel V. Brown Crane. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers- Herbert Clayton Crane, Harvey Joe Crane and Jerry Wayne Crane.
Sammy was a self-employed heavy equipment operator for 22 years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years- Carol Crane; four children and their spouses- Deborah and Larry Brown, Vicky and Tom Noland all of Warrenton, Roy Crane Jr. and Susan Crane of Jeffersonton and Pam and Jerry Napier of Amissville; one brother- Allen Crane of Warrenton; one sister- Thelma Robinson of Warrenton; sister-in-law Barbara Crane of Virginia Beach, VA; 10 grandchildren- T. W., Travis, Michael, Patrick, Tabitha, Jessica, Samantha, Christine, Katrina and Danielle; seven great grandchildren- Skylar, Jacob, Ben, Natalie, Joey, Tucker and Casey.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29 at 2:00 PM by Rev. Sam P. Jones, Jr. Interment Bright View Cemetery, Warrenton.
