Jack W. Osburn Jr, age 81, died on Friday July 9, 2010 at Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton, VA. He was born on October 9, 1928 in Wayne, WV, the son of Jack W. and Pearl (Thompson) Osburn. Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane (Wilson) Osburn, brother C. Robert Osburn of Hurricane WV, sister Sherri Krantz of Roanoke, VA, step sister Kristen Eskew of Beech Fork, WV, son Jack W. Osburn III and his wife Beverly (Edelmann) of Vienna, VA, daughter Rebecca O. Eastman and her husband Loren of Warrenton, VA, 5 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Jack served as the Director of Certificate Division of the Office of the Trade Adjustment Assistance for International Trade, a division of the US Department of Commerce. He was an avid adventurer, reader and storyteller. He was a long-time reading volunteer for the Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D), and was their super senior Volunteer for the Year in 2006.
A memorial service is planned at 2PM on Tuesday July 13 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6194 Dumfries Road, Warrenton, VA, and visitation with the family after the service.
